Train vs. rental car in UK?

I would choose the rental car. My opinion based on experience is get a GPS, throw your bags in and go. Learning to drive on the left shouldn't take long...lol. Although the public transportation is very good in Britain you will spend a lot of time planning and asking questions. If you're like me, I enjoy the freedom of moving about independently. You will pay more with the rental but you will feel more fulfilled. I only recommend this if you're an experienced driver, self-sufficient and capable of multitasking. Rent European Vacation the movie and watch the part where they're circling the round-a-bout a dozen times.
